As usual, I like to take a reasonably left-field approach to writing blogs for the SYS Group website. It’s my way of trying to make Financial Planning more relatable.
Financial Guidance
I often meet new or prospective clients who, either feel they don’t need a Financial Adviser in their corner, or feel intimidated or possibly overpowered by the thought of disclosing their finances with someone independent. It’s an Irish thing! We don’t like to talk about anything personal. I have seen, and continue to see the value of having the advice and often the soundboard of a Financial Adviser in an individual’s, a business owner, or a family’s life. So, you might ask what this has to do with Top Gun? Well, my take on it is that every Maverick needs a Goose, and everyone needs a wingman or wing-woman. There is no difference when it comes to having a Financial Adviser on your shoulder for life.
Just like in Top Gun, planes go up and down, and so do markets. The real value of having a “Goose”, I mean Financial Adviser, in your life, is not when you are cruising at 40,000ft. Rather, it’s in times of turbulence. The markets are a lonely place for many when there are periods of instability and fluctuation. Often people try to time the market on their own. This will, over the long term, result in disappointment without a doubt.
Financial Planning Advice
So, what’s the synopsis? Take the leap of faith! Engage with a Financial Adviser and build a plan that suits you and yours. Use us advisers, as a soundboard, and instead of worrying about the “what if’s” in life, just go live life and trust in us and the plan.
